Drawdown/Refill Status

April 18, 2022, 9:47 p.m.

Drawdown started the weekend of October 16, 2021.  The 4-foot drawdown was achieved on approximately 11 November 2021. The depth was measured from the high mean watermark on the spillway in accordance with DEP requirements. Refill began through the help of mother nature early February and the valve was closed (opened some to allow flow downstream) on February 15, 2022 to complete the refill. In late February, the decision was made to open the valve to offset the influx and reduce the lake level. This was in response to a request from the Conservation Commission to allow some residents to stabilize their waterfront and install corrosion control as they were repairing their walls. That stabilization and corrosion control were established, and the valve was shut to complete refill on March 28, 2022, while allowing some flow downstream (open ~3 turns). The final spring refill was completed on April 4, 2022.
